Learn About Grace Church
For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. (1 John 3:11)
A center for worship and fellowship;
A school for discipleship and stewardship; and
A community for healing and outreach.
We live our mission through regular participation in the Eucharist and the practice of our baptismal promises. Traditional Eucharistic liturgy and fine music are hallmarks of worship at our parish. The Holy Eucharist is celebrated during the week and in five services on Sundays, including ministry to the Spanish-speaking people of the surrounding area.
Grace Episcopal School, founded in 1959, provides an excellent, developmentally appropriate education for children in Preschool through Grade Five. Contact the school at (703) 549-5067 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Grace Episcopal Church in Alexandria, Virginia, was founded in 1855 by members of Alexandria’s original parish, Christ Church, as a place where “all may come without regard for temporal estate, freely and without fee, as brethren come one to another.” It was a custom of the time for church members to pay a “pew tax,” so a place where one might worship freely by God’s Grace was a novel concept.
Grace Church has thrived for over 150 years and today embraces a growing parish family of more than 1,000 people. The original mission of Grace Church—the free gift of God's grace available to all who seek it—remains constant to this day.
At Grace Episcopal Church you will find a community of faith, called to worship and to serve Jesus Christ through the Eucharist, prayer, and personal care for our own parishioners, and for the needy in the surrounding community and the wider world.
It is Christ who empowers the church to cope with life’s brokenness, sets its members on creative new paths, and gives it the warmth and joy of community. We invite you to browse through our site and get to know a little bit about us.
