According to The Book of Common Prayer, ministry is the responsibility of every member of the Church. At Grace Church there are myriad opportunities to participate in worship services. All baptized adults and children are encouraged to receive Holy Communion. Parents are welcome to bring infants and toddlers to the altar rail to receive communion or a blessing.
We offer a regular schedule of services on Sunday and throughout the week and additional services are offered during Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week and Easter. Separate schedules are published for these services. Check the calendar for specific times for these services.
Acolytes actively participate in our worship service by leading processions and serving at the altar. Both adults and youth are encouraged to serve as acolytes and training is provided. MORE...
Adult Acolytes assist at the Eucharist at the 7:30 AM and the 5:00 PM Sunday services, as well as at the daily services.
Youth Acolytes from fourth grade through high school assist at the 9:00 AM and the 11:15 AM Sunday services during the academic year and the 10:00 AM service during the summer.
Altar Guild members prepare the altars, sanctuary, vestments, and flowers for all worship services, including daily and Sunday celebrations of the Holy Eucharist, marriages, baptisms, confirmations, and burials. MORE...
Altar Flowers are given by parishioners and friends as an expression of gratitude to God for special events in their lives such as births, marriages or anniversaries, in general thanksgiving or in memory of persons who have died. MORE...
Grace Church is an Affiliate Member of the Royal School of Church Music in America. All the choirs are rehearsed using many of the techniques and suggestions of the RSCM. This program is designed to build a musically competent group that can take a full part in the life of the Church through understanding and enjoyment of music and worship. Lay Eucharistic Ministers
Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs) assist the clergy during the celebration of the Holy Eucharist by bearing the chalice and bread to those receiving Holy Communion. MORE...
Lectors assist during the conduct of the public worship by reading the appointed biblical lessons. The lector at the 5:00 PM Sunday service also serves as usher. Individual training is provided. Otto Wolff is the parish coordinator.
Ushers greet worshipers, assist with seating and movement of the congregation during the service, collect the offering, help newcomers with information and help tidy up after services. MORE...
